Barça lost in agonising fashion after leading for significant periods of the game, letting it slip away at the end
A bitter defeat for Barça against Kielce (29-27) after leading for most of the game on matchday 8 of the Champions league. A 6-0 final period for the home side completed the Polish comeback.
Barça started well, opening up a 5-1 lead, before suspensions began to affect both sides. Cindric, Dika Mem and Ariño (five goals in the first half) led the attack, but Kielce came back to level the score at 9-9. Everything was to play for in the second half with the score evenly balanced at 14-16 at the break.
The second half saw Ben Alí score on this debut in the Champions League for Barça, and although Carlos Ortega's team continued to add to their score, the home side managed to keep pace. With just two minutes left the score was 27-27, but Barça were to suffer agonising defeat in. the end, going down 29-27.
