Three more blaugranes through to the World Cup finals in 2022 thanks to Spain's 1-0 win over Sweden. Marc ter Stegen was in the starting XI as Hansi Flick's team rounded off World Cup qualification with an away win in Armenia having already booked their place in Qatar last month.
Saturday 13 November
- France 8 - 0 Kazakhstan
A huge 8-0 win for France against Kazakhstan confirms that they’ll be going to Qatar 2022 to defend their world title. Clement Lenglet came on for the last ten minutes as a substitute for Lucas Hernández. - Montenegro 2 - 2 Netherlands
The Netherlands went into a 2-0 lead away to Montenegro, with both the goals scored by Memphis, the first from the penalty spot and the second after 54 minutes. That’s 11 goals for the Barça player, putting him top of the goalscoring charts in the UEFA zone. Frenkie was also on for the first 78 minutes, replaced by Gravenberch when it looked like the Dutch were well on course for mathematically securing qualification. But late goals from Lewandowski and Zahavi meant the Montenegrins were able to snatch a late, surprise draw. The result means Holland still lead the group going into the final game, two points ahead of Turkey and Norway, and will still qualify as long as they can avoid defeat to the Norwegians on Tuesday.
