Paris Saint-Germain are the semi-final opponents

The Parisians eliminated Olympique Lyonnais, the winner of the last five editions of the Women's Champions League

Paris Saint-Germain will be Barça Women's opponents in the semifinals of the Champions League. The away leg will be on April 24 or 25, and the return on May 1 or 2. PSG eliminated Olympique Lyonnais, the champion of the last five editions of the tournament. After the 0-1 first-leg result in the Parc des Princes, the return couldn't be played until this Sunday due to positive Covid cases in the Lyon side.

At the Groupama Stadium, the Parisians turned the tie around after the hosts took an early lead, thanks to a first half effort from Geyoro and Renard's own goal just after the hour.

Paris Saint-Germain are undefeated in the French League this season, and are two points ahead of Lyon. They are another team full of stars, such as captain Irene Paredes, Sara Dabritz, Marie-Antoniette Katoto and goalkeeper Tiane Endler, who made a decisive stoppage in added time.

Two precedents

It will be the third game between PSG and Barça, with the previous two going the way of the Gallic side. The first was in the quarterfinals of the 15/16 edition, when a goal right at the end of the second leg from Cristiane was the only difference.

The following year in the semifinals, the French side won 1-3 at the Miniestadi and 2-0 at the Parc des Princes to qualify for the final.

The dates and times of the upcoming fixtures will be fixed this Monday. The other semifinal will be played by Bayern Munich and Chelsea, meaning that the leaders of the German, English, French and Spanish Leagues will play for the right to get to the final and lift the title.
