FC Barcelona to face Zenit in the Euroleague quarter finals

The best of five tie will begin in Barcelona on 20-21 and 22-23 April

Zenit Saint Petersburg will be Barça's opponents in the quarter finals of the Euroleague. The best of five tie will start with matches in Barcelona on 21 and 23 April before moving on to Saint Petersburg on 28 April and 30 April if game four is necessary. Should game five be needed it will be played at the Palau on 4 May. 

A quality team 

Zenit have had an impressive campaign so far in the Euroleague with a record of 20 wins and 14 defeats. Their coach is former Barça boss Xavi Pascual and they also boast former blaugrana Kevin Pangos who has scored 12.5 points and 6.5 assists per game. 

Center Arturas Gudaitis (9.8 points and 4 rebounds), Billy Baron (9.5), Will Thomas (8.9), Poythress (8.5), Ponitka (8.3), Hollin (8.2) and KC Rivers are other dangerous players for the Russian side. 

Previous meetings

Barça and Zenit have met four times before in the Euroleague with the blaugranes having a 3-1 lead. Last season the blaugranes won both matches in the regular season and in the current campaign the Russians won 74-70 in Saint Petersburg with Barça winning 85-81 in the Palau.
