Benfica 6-2 Barça: Final Four hopes fade

Edu Castro's men were consistently denied by Pedro Henriques in a heavy loss against the Portuguese side

Barça won't be in the Final Four of the European League after losing to Benfica (6-2). It was a match in which the Portuguese goalkeeper, Pedro Henriques, was inspired and only Sergi Panadero and Pablo Álvarez were able to find the net.

Frantic pace

Two goals inside the first minute - from former Barça player Lucas Ordoñez on 23 seconds, and Sergi Panadero, after an assist from Pau Bargalló - set the tone, with Benfica 3-1 up by the break.

Edu Castro's side found no way past Henriques, and his excellence between the posts allowed his side to go 6-1 up before Pablo Álvarez bagged a late consolation. Focus will now turn back to the OK League, and the next match is on Saturday 17 April at the Igualada track (8.00pm) CEST.
