Barça Women 7-1 Levante: One way traffic!

After an entire year, supporters were back in the Johan Cruyff Stadium to cheer on Barça Women, and the 994 in attendance saw an absolute treat. Some fans had barely taken their seats before Marta Torrejón set the hosts on their way after some fine work from Martens.

Levante didn't trouble Sandra Paños too much, though both Andrea Pereira and Mapi León deserve great credit for that. Their excellence in defence meant that the visitors' only goal, from Redondo, didn't arrive until the 93rd minute. 

Vicky Losada doubled Barça's lead on 20 minutes after some tireless work from her team-mates. Long periods of possession were punctuated by the occasional chance, and Mariona made no mistake before half-time after being sent clear by Melanie Serrano (3-0, min 35).

All-out attack

Though the match was already secure, Barça didn't let up and continued to pressure Levante at every opportunity. Melanie, with a powerful shot from the edge of the area, and Bruna, on her debut, brought up the manita. Aitana and Jennifer Hermoso also got in on the act to ensure that Barça maintained their sensational run of 22 wins in 22 league matches.

The win was also significant as it placed the blaugranes 12 points ahead of their second-placed rivals in the race for the league title.
