Barça 79-55 Unicaja: Great start to the week

A tremendous final period seals another convincing victory

Barça picked up a fabulous win against Unicaja Malaga (79-55) to start a week with three games in convincing fashion.

The defence was excellent throughout, leaking just 13 points in the first period and with Oriola and Smits on fire they were already +10 after the first ten minutes.

Unicaja recovered somewhat in the second period, but with Higgins now leading the play, Barça’s comfortable lead was maintained.

In the third period, however, things changed. A 5-13 streak suddenly had Malaga back to within one. It was time for Barça to push things up a notch, and Mirotic and Davies did just that by spearheading an 11-3 streak that got things back to the way they were before.

And the Catalans kept motoring in the final period, when Unicaja only managed a mere four points and Barça ended up winning by the clearest of margins, 79-55, and thus claim their 12th win in a row.
