A fine performance, and a majestic one in the third period, deliver a win in the Basque Country
A fine win for Barça at Retabet Bilbao Basket (73-90) in a game that the home side were strong early on, powering to an early 11-3 lead, but the third period ended 12-30 and that was where the balance was tipped the blaugrana way. Davies led the scoring with 14.
Barça had already made up for their staggering start by winning the first period 23-25, with Mirotic and Hanga, as well as the aforesaid Davies, especially strong.
By the break, the lead had been extended to double figures and a superb ten minutes of basketball in the third quarter as good as put the game to bed.
Their mighty 24 point lead was cut down by the Basques towards the end, but it never looked like they were going to get back into the game, and Barça can now turn their attention to the next challenge: The Copa del Rey.
