Barça players take control of their new CUPRAs

Piqué, Busquets, Ter Stegen, De Jong, Lenglet, Dest, Pjanic and Junior Firpo are some of the 19 Barça players who customised their versions of the CUPRA Formentor, CUPRA León and CUPRA Ateca

Car manufacturer CUPRA, FC Barcelona’s Automobile and Mobility partner, has given the FC Barcelona players the chance to choose their favourite vehicle and customise their perfect car. These include captains Sergio Busquets and Gerard Piqué, as well as Marc ter Stegen, the global ambassador for CUPRA, Frenkie De Jong, Clément Lenglet, Martin Braithwaite and Riqui Puig, as well as the stars that joined Barça this season, Sergiño Dest, Franciso Trincao,Pedri and Miralem Pjanic, among others.  

The company that was founded in Barcelona set up a space at the Ciutat Esportiva, where any players that so wished were given the chance to get a first-hand look at the different models launched by CUPRA and to choose between the CUPRA Formentor, CUPRA León and CUPRA Ateca. A total of 19 players chose to visit the space set up for the event around Christmas time, and which was held in accordance with all health measures and instructions, where they could define step-by-step their different functionalities and finishes using an interactive digital configurator.

Busquets, De Jong, Dest and Pjanic all opted to custom their own CUPRA Formentor, designed as the official FC Barcelona car available with a wide range of seven engines, including two plug-in hybrid variants that will be going on sale in the first quarter of this year. The players also had the chance to admire and personalise the two current market versions of the CUPRA León, the first CUPRA plug-in hybrid vehicle.

Lenglet and Junior Firpo, meanwhile, chose the new CUPRA Ateca, while Ter Stegen decided to renew his CUPRA Formentor with the new plug-in hybrid 245 HP version.

A global alliance

FC Barcelona and CUPRA announced their five-season partnership deal in August 2019. It is much more than a traditional sponsorship deal, through which the two parties will be working together on different visibility and marketing campaigns based on their shared values.
