Collado: 'I'm going to score from this corner'

The Barça B captain tells the referee's assistant what he is about to do just before scoring from a corner for the first time in his career

The final moments of the game and the referee awards Barça B a corner. Alex Collado strides across to take it but before doing so he tells the referee's assistant: "This is going in." No sooner said than done as the captain sends in the corner and the Badalona defence and keeper hesitate before the ball ends up in the back of the net.

The captain is back after recovering from the foot injury that kept him out of last season's play off and he has been in the starting XI for the recent wins against Espanyol B, Cornellà and Badalona. In those games he has also managed to score three times, twice against Badalona and a free kick against Cornellà.

21 year old Collado made his debut for Barça B in March 2018 against Lorca and has now scored 13 goals in 66 matches, including a strike against At.Levante in 2019/20 that was voted goal of the season in the Second Division B.

Collado missed the first three games of the season due to injury but since his return his three goals have helped Barça B to important victories in recent matches. The midfielder made his debut for the first team under coach Ernesto Valverde in week 36 of the 2018/19 season replacing Dembélé in a 2-0 win over Celta at Camp Nou in La Liga.
