Unicaja Málaga 70-79 Barça: Hard-fought win

The Blaugrana pick up pace during the game to win in the Liga Endesa

Barça took a second Liga Endesa victory on the bounce on Thursday night, winning against Unicaja Málaga at the Martín Carpena for the first time since 2015. Nikola Mirotic contributed 24 points and Alex Abrines 21, in a 70-79 twin.

Defensive issues plagued Barça early on, as Málaga controlled the offensive boards. The score was 38-25 with 16 minutes gone, and a change was required by the team.

Five points in a row from Alex Abrines got Barça back into the contest, and helped make it 38-32 at the halftime break. Upon the restart, the gap was reduced to 2 points by another Abrines run, and the Blaugrana finally pulled ahead, 45-46, in the 26th minute, as Mirotic upped his attacking output.

The lead stretched to 8 points in the final stages, and by the end Jasikevicius' men had established their superiority for an important win, giving them a perfect record on Matchday 2 of the season.
