Barça 89-86 San Pablo Burgos: A great win!

On the return of the ACB to the Palau Blaugrana, Sarunas Jasikevicius' side had to work hard in an even match that wasn't decided until the last seconds

Sarunas Jasikevicius' Barça started this season's ACB on a good footing. On the day of the return of league action to the Palau, Barça defeated San Pablo Burgos, but not without having to work tremendously hard. In a very even match, it was not until the last seconds when the win was decided (89-86): a free throw by Hanga and two more from Abrines broke the 86-86 deadlock on the scoreboard.

Abrines finished the match with 22 points, the same as Mirotic - who was a key factor in the victory. As was captain Orihuela, who scored 20 points and 11 rebounds. Those players were key to stopping San Pablo Burgos, who had a better start. In fact, the visitors were quickly up by +10 (11-21, min 9), and closed the quarter 18-23 in favour.

Abrines, Orihuela and Mirotic allowed Saras' side to reduce the deficit gradually and turn things around (45-44, min 20).

Burgos don't give up

Peñarroya's men continued to pressurise the hosts and, thanks to a good performance from Horton, they were able to tie the game late on (78-78). With 18 seconds left it was still 86-86. Step forward Hanga and Abrines to be decisive.
