Aleix Gómez, with 100% effectiveness from 7 metres, was the top scorer with seven goals. Four new players also made their debut in this derby: Frade, Janc, Makuc and Langaro.
N’Guessan, who suffered an injury to the external lateral ligament of his left ankle and will be out for approximately a month, scored Barça’s first goal. Thereafter, Xavi Pascual's men just kept on going.
Barça were devastating, with three of the four new faces: the pivot Frade, the far right Janc, the central Makuc and the left winger Langaro scoring on their debut. At the end of the first half, Barça were 18-12 up, the widest margin in the opening 30 minutes.
Barça didn't relax in the second half and extended their lead, with Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas only conceding two goals in 15 minutes as a result of the Blaugranes almost perfect attacking game. By the end, Xavi Pascual's men were comfortable, the long wait for the return to competition worthwhile.
