April 29 marks the second anniversary of the 2017-18 league title, the first under Ernesto Valverde and the last with Iniesta in the team
It’s two years since Barça made it to a quarter of a century of Liga championships. Title number 25 came on Wednesday 29 April, and was the first of the Ernesto Valverde era, secured with a 4-2 victory at Deportivo la Coruña with three games in hand.
Philippe Coutinho with one and Leo Messi got the goals, adding to a haul that would win him another European Golden Shoe. It was also the penultimate of the 32 trophies that Andrés Iniesta won at Barça, with a 5-0 defeat of Sevilla in the Copa del Rey Final to come a few days later.
That completed Barça’s eighth league and cup double, and the team would have managed to complete a while league season undefeated had they not fallen to shock 5-4 defeat at Levante in one of their remaining games.
Now here’s your chance to remember the great day in Galicia all over again! Enjoy!
