The run in begins at Camp Nou

In the month of March there are 9 points at stake in the race for the La Liga title and also a possible quarter-final place in the Champions League. Four vital games before the next international break at the end of March and the good news for the blaugranes is that three of those contests come at home at Camp Nou. 

First test: Real Sociedad

The battle for the league title continues on Saturday with the visit of Real Sociedad to Camp Nou. The team from San Sebastián come into the game in sixth place in the table and will be looking to end a run of 21 straight defeats in the league at away to FC Barcelona. 

The txuri-urdin have a job on their hands as Barça have been in unstoppable form at home this season in the league, picking 12 wins and a draw from their 13 La Liga fixtures at Camp Nou so far. 

Trip to Mallorca and Champions League second leg

After the visit of Imanol Alguacil's team on Saturday, the following weekend on Saturday 14 March Barça travel to Son Moix to take on Mallorca in La Liga. Just four days later the blaugranes return to Camp Nou for the visit of Serie A side Napoli for the second leg of their Champions League last 16 tie. With the fans behind them, Quique Setién's team have a good chance of making it to the quarter-finals of Europe's top club competition after the 1-1 draw in the Stadio San Paolo in the first leg. 

Final fixture before the international break 

Camp Nou will be the focus once again for the last game ahead of the international break. The visitors will be Leganés in La Liga on 22 March. The Madrid are mired in relegation battle in La Liga and are currently five points from safety and in desperate need of a good result to help them in their fight to beat the drop. 

The fixture schedule is a demanding one but with Camp Nou behind them in three of the four games, Barça have a fierce ally in their attempts to regain the league title and make their way to the last eight of this season's Champions League.
