What a perfect weekend!

What a perfect weekend!

The professional first teams in different sports have all celebrated wins in a Barça-tastic couple of days

What a weekend for Barça, with all of its professional teams registering wins, apart from the futsal side, whose players are off on an international break.

Men’s football: Betis 2-3 Barça

Goals from Frenkie de Jong, Sergio Busquets and Clément Lenglet sealed a big win despite going behind twice against the club formerly managed by Quique Setién. It hasn’t meant catching up with league leaders Real Madrid, but it certainly keeps up the tight pressure.

Women’s football: Real Sociedad 1-10 Barça

A simply outrageous result in the Spanish Super Cup Final, with Marta Torrejón netting a fabulous four, Alexia Putellas and Asisat Oshoala getting two each and Caroline Graham and Candela Andújar adding the others.

Basketball: Gran Canaria 65-81 Barça

A seventh win in a row before heading to Malaga for the Copa del Rey. The week that also brought two Euroleague wins consolidates the club’s position at the top of the Liga Endesa pile.

Handball: Elverum 26-30 Barça

A tenth win in Europe, this time in Norway, keeps the team top of Group A, while they have won all 16 domestic league fixtures played to date.

Roller hockey: Noia Freixenet 2-4 Barça

Eighteen wins in a row keep Barça flying high in the OK Liga. Pau Bargalló (2) Ignacio Alabart and João Rodrigues scored the four goals in a tough away win.

It wasn’t such a great weekend for the Barça B football team, who lost 3-2 at home to Villarreal B. Gerard Fernández and Kike Saverio scored the goals but it wasn’t enough to avoid the first ever defeat at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
