PSG 32-35 Barça: European leaders for New Year

The French side's five-year unbeaten home record tumbles in a dramatic encounter in Paris

Barça have collected the most prestigious of wins away to the mighty Paris Saint-Germain to go top of the VELUX EHF Champions League Group A ahead of the break for the European Championship in January. In a game that wasn’t decided until the very end, Cindric and Pálmarsson led the scoring with six goals each.

The French side moved three goals clear during the first half, but Barça fought their way back into contention and everything was still to play for at the interval (17-16).

A 4-0 streak for Barça looked to have changed the course of the game, but PSG hit back with a 3-0 of their own, and we then progressed from 20-20 to 30-30 with neither side managing to break clear.

The decisive period was right at the end when three goals from Ariño, Cindric and Pálmarsson secured a famous win that ends PSG’s unbeaten record at home in Europe stretching back to 2014. The tournament resumes in February.
