Barça 97-94 Valencia Basket: Mirotic shows the way

Power forward takes 33 points to outscore everyone in a high-scoring game

What a game against Valencia Basket. Barça go 3-1 in in the Liga ACB as both sides topped 90 points, with Nikola Mirotic simply stunning. His 33 points were the most for a Barça player in a domestic fixture since 2014. But Valencia had a super-scorer of their own in Jordan Loyd, who finished with 30.

Like we said… what a game!

Barça stormed out of the blocks to 11-4, and Mirotic already has 12 points after the first period, which ended 27-23.

Abrines and Kuric sent Barça straight to 32-23, but Valencia managed to claw their way back into the lead, before Barça found their game again as the interval approached (52-46).

That lead was verging on double figures before Loyd started to have his biggest impact and as the points started flying in at both end, it became clear that this game wasn’t going to be decided until the very end.

When it mattered most, the Catalans delivered. And the Palau could breathe again. A fabulous night of hoops and a fabulous win to boot.
