Barça have their first win in the OK League after beating Girona 8-2. The first three points of the domestic competition came thanks to a hat-trick from Pablo Álvarez, a double from Helder Nunes and goals from Joao Rodrigues, Matias Pascual and Ignacio Alabart.
Pablo Álvarez opened the scoring in the ninth minute, but the response from Girona came quickly, Gerard Pujol equalising on 13 after Matias Pascual saw the blue card.
Two minutes later, Pablo Álvarez put the blaugranes ahead again, and then Joao Rodrigues took advantage a mistake to make it 3-1. Helder Nunes scored two goals in the final stretch of the first half, before Pablo Álvarez achieved his hat-trick with a shot that surprised Llaverola after the break.
A penalty allowed Matias Pascual to make it 7-1, before Ignacio Alabart made it eight with a free-kick. Humberto Mendes' late goal was little consolation for the visitors.
