A hard-fought win over Obradoiro (86-92) opened the season in style for Barça, with Mirotic the standout player thanks to his 27 points scored.
Both sides were potent on offense in the first period, which ended 18-18. In the second, the equality continued, as the action went up and down the court. Mirotic and Higgins were the most active in the first half of the game, which concluded 43-46 thanks to a late bucket from the American.
In the third quarter, Barça established a 9-point advantage at one stage, but Obradoiro fought back with three consecutive 3-pointers. Tomic and Davies rallied to ensure a 60-67 lead going into the final ten minutes.
Once again, three 3-pointers in a row got Obradeiro back into the game, which was level at 71-71 with six minutes remaining. A Barça run of 0-8 got them back in front, and they held on for a 86-92 triumph on their league debut for the season.
