Reus Deportiu 3-2 Barça: A tough defeat

Edu Castro's side couldn't win the Spanish Super Cup in a vibrant match decided in the last moments

Barça's roller hockey side were unable to beat Reus Deportiu in the final of the Spanish Super Cup (3-2). It was a vibrant duel in which Edu Castro couldn't count on Pau Bargalló for injury.

Reus edge ahead

Barça started the match with great intensity but in the final stretch of the first half, Reus went ahead with a goal by Marc Julià. It remained at 1-0 until the break, with Reus hitting the post just after half-time, and then being unable to take advantage of a blue card to Sergi Panadero.

Barça take the lead within a minute

João Rodrigues levelled the match in the 43rd minute, and a few seconds later, Marc Julià saw a blue card giving Helder Nunes the opportunity to put the Blaugrana into the lead (1-2).

Electric ending

Both teams went for it in the final minutes, with Alex Rodríguez bringing Reus level before Romà Bancells scored from long range (3-2, min 47). Barça had three minutes to force overtime, but on this occasion their luck was out.
