Real Madrid 87-67 Barça Lassa: Defeat in the first match

Pesic's side lost the opening match of the Liga ACB series of games against Real Madrid

The first round of the ACB League final was won by Real Madrid, with Barça Lassa unable to deploy their usual game against a very successful opponent. The match didn't start in the best way for Barça, Los Blancos streaking into a 9-0 lead. However, Pesic's team reacted and were back to 14-13 by the eighth minute.

Madrid, superior

Pablo Laso's team took advantage of Sergio Llull and Campazzo's accuracy with the triple to put their foot on the accelerator again (32-19, min 13), and though Oriola, Singleton and Claver kept things ticking over for Barça, another great triple from Campazzo saw the hosts with a 15-point lead by half-time.

Without inspiration

After the break, the deficit was cut to four points thanks to more scoring from long range through Oriola and Singleton, but Real always seemed to have something in reserve and by the end of the last quarter they led by 11 points (63-52). An 11-0 partial took the game out of reach of the visitors (74-54, min 34), but a final push through Hanga and Heurtel, at least made the scoreline more respectable for Barça. The second game will also be in Madrid, next Monday at 9.00pm CEST.
