In a best of five semifinal series the first point is Barça's, after a stunning victory over Tecnyconta Zaragoza (101-59). Pesic's side dominated throughout, and that was reflected in the score. A high rhythm, great physicality, success at the basket - and also further out (15 triples) - as well as a good defence (39 rebounds, 33 defensive) were key. It meant the Palau were able to celebrate the third highest margin of victory in Barça's play-off history (+42).
Demolished
It was a dangerous game against a Zaragoza side with nothing to lose but Barça were serious from the beginning. By the end of the first period they were already 26-11 up, and had extended that to 51-26 by half-time, with 11 points from Kuric and 8 from Claver.
By dictating the rhythm of the game and distributing minutes between all the players, Barça were able to punish their opponents at every opportunity. Try as they might in the last quarter, Zaragoza couldn't do anything to avoid a 101-59 final score.
