Barça Lassa beat Palma Futsal on penalties to reach LNFS final

A frenetic game ended in a win for Barça Lassa on penalties, earning them a place in the final and qualification for the Champions League

A tense match at the Palau Blaugrana on Monday night ended with penalties and a victory for Barça Lassa against Palma Futsal, in Game 3 of their LNFS semifinal. They will now meet ElPozo in the final, as well as qualifying for the UEFA Futsal Champions League next season.

Inspired goalkeepers keep the game close

Barça Lassa came out strong, providing constant early pressure in the opposition half, with several chances only kept out by goalkeeper Barrón. Ferrao, Lozano, Joselito, Adolfo and Aicardo were all denied by the in-form shot stopper. Barça's Dídac was called into action less frequently, but kept out efforts from Paradynski and Taffy to keep the score 0-0.

The stellar saves continued into the second half, with Ferrao, Lozano and Esquerdinha all trying their luck and having their shots blocked.

Barça break the deadlock, Palma respond

Finally, Barça Lassa's persistence paid off. Sergio Lozano found the net in the 36th minute, putting in a rebound off a parry by Barrón. However, the response was swift from Palma Futsal, as and they pulled back level just a minute later through Joao.

Penalties go Barça's way

An electric third game in the semifinal series went to extra time, which continued with the same intensity as the regulation time but ended without goals scored -even with both teams putting goalkeepers outfield for the final three minutes.

Thus it came down to penalties. With the Palau Blaugrana on its feet, it was a save from Paradynski's spot kick that gave Barça Lassa the win and kept their league campaign going. They now have a final to come against ElPozo, and guaranteed Champions League football next season.
