Divina Seguros Joventut 89-77 Barça Lassa: Beaten in Badalona

'La Penya' win the local derby against a side that is spending all of its energy on the Euroleague quarter final effort

Barça Lassa have lost just their fifth game of the ACB league season, away to Joventut of Badalona, with the exertions of two big European games midweek and the thought of the decisive trip to Istanbul this Wednesday clearly paying their toll.

Singleton (16) and Ribas (13 punts) both performed brilliantly, but the green-and-whites were able to take a derby victory that does no damage to Barça’s 23-5 lead in the regular season table.

The home side dominated the early plays, leading 18-10 after eight minutes. The threes were flying in at first, but the second period was a more defensive affair, but with Barça still struggling with the score at 39-34 when the sides went in for their break.

A 14-2 spree led by López-Aróstegui and McFadden only heightened the blaugrana difficulties, and despite the efforts of Pangos and Kuric, the game was slipping out their hands.

The Laprovittola-Harangody-Todorovic triangle finished off the damage in the final quarter – the visitors had spent all their energy against Anadolu Efes, the side they’ll be meeting next in a head-to-head battle for a place in the Euroleague Final Four.
