U.E Cornellà 2-2 Barça B: Victory denied right at the end
The points are shared after the reserves surrender a 2-0 lead and concede an 87th minute equaliser
Barça B have drawn in a tight Division 2B fixture away to Cornellà, with Garcia Pimienta’s side dominant in the first half but the home side stronger in the second. Collado and Wague scored the goals that earned a bittersweet point.
With Monchu taken off with an injured knee under pouring rain, things didn’t get off to the best of starts for Barça B. It was while Cornellà had a man of their own injured that the reserves broke the deadlock with a Collado strike deflecting in off a defender.
Senegalese full-back Wague then extended the lead on the half hour mark, and the chances kept flowing as the second half got under way.
But Cornellà had not thrown in the towel. Anything but. They rose their game for the last half hour, with Borja pulling one back and Esteve snatching a draw with just three minutes to play.
Three points would have been nicer, but one is not a bad return either as the reserves continue to battle for a place in the promotion playoffs.
