FCBEscola Singapore off to hot start in ESPZEN Junior League

Three wins, a draw and a defeat on the first day of the competition

The FCBEscola Singapore's Under-9, Under-11, and Under-15 teams have gotten off to an impressive start in its third season participating in the ESPZEN Junior League. The U-9 and U-11 categories compete play 7-on-7; the U-15s play 9-a-side.

The FCBEscola's Local Project Director, Ángel Toledano, said the league was "well-organized...in which our players face local and international academies like the AC Milan Academy Scuola Calcio of Singapore or the Albirex Academy in Japan." Toledano said the main objective is "to be able give to our players the chance to compete against other teams and to prepare for the VI FCBEscola International Tournament, which is the year's main event."

In the U-9 category, The FCBEscola Singapore is in the Championship League (Second Division), in which 8 teams are vying to be promoted to the top category, called the Premiership. Each team will face the other seven twice each. On the first day, the FCBEscola Singapore's Team Neymar routed the BBE FC Wolves, 8-0, but fell to Serangoon, 2–0.

Team Messi of the U-11s lead the Premiership after opening play by vanquishing Boys United FC, 4-2, and the J7 Euro Club, 2-1. Twelve sides compete in the U-11 league.

The U-15 Team Iniesta, which also play in an 8-team league, called the Championship (Second Division), drew on day one, 2–2, with the Lycée Français Singapore.
