Players prepare banner in honour of Bradley, Vázquez and Theslof for their win in the MLS Eastern Conference

These are happy days at FCBEscola Toronto after local club Toronto FC won the two-legged MLS Eastern Conference final against Columbus Crew. And that’s because three of the boys at FCBEscola are the sons of Michael Bradley, club and US national team captain; former FC Barcelona player Víctor Vázquez, who is second in assists in the current edition of MLS; and assistant coach Nick Theslof.

In honour of the victory, FCBEscola Toronto surprised Bradley with the presentation of a banner saying “Congratulations, dads” at the end of the training session last Friday 1 December by the players from the Pre-academy, the boys and girls aged 4 to 6 years with which the children train.

The local project director of FCBEscola Toronto, Xavier Baladas, commented that “we are so proud that the beginners at our FCBEscola include the son of the US captain, a famous former Barça star like Víctor Vázquez and a member of the coaching staff of the biggest club in our city, all of which goes to show that the elite of Canadian soccer trust our methodology and our sporting values for the education of their own children”.

The final of the MLS Cup takes place next Saturday 9 December at the BMO Stadium, the home field of Toronto FC, in a single leg against the Seattle Sounders, so all football supporters in the country will be paying close attention to the next target for the dads of FCBEscola Toronto and their team-mates – for they could become the very first Canadian club to get their hands on the MLS Cup.
