The U17 team of the Barça Academy Arizona have achieved third place in the Development Academy, the most important league in the United States, in its first season in operation. It means that they are the only non-subsidiary of an MLS team to qualify a team to the quarterfinals of the competition.

The Barça Residency Academy Arizona U17 have had a great season and managed to qualify for the final phase of the competition, placing among the 20 best teams in the country. In this second phase, they managed to get into the quarterfinals of the playoffs by defeating three MLS teams: Vancouver Whitecaps (1-0), Philadelphia Union (2-0) and Orlando City FC (4-3). In the quarterfinals, the team defeated New York Red Bulls 3-1.

At the Final Four held in Kansas City, Barça faced a semifinal against the Seattle Sounders. Although the players were true to the style of the Club, their opponents ended up taking advantage of errors in defence to qualify for the final after winning by 4-1. In the match for the bronze medal, the U17 side managed to overcome Montreal Impact 3-1 and in so doing, earn the first medal for the Blaugrana in the Development Academy.
