FC Barcelona powered to victory in Logroño on Sunday with a spectacular 4-0 victory to maintain the pressure on leaders Atlético Madrid.
Lieke Martens got things off to the perfect start with a screamer in just the third minute, and just two minutes later laid on the assist for Aitana to tap in the second.
The Dutch international was in tremendous form, and very nearly made it three on eighteen minutes following a chipped pass from Alexia.
The danger was all in the direction of the home side’s goal, and before the break Mariona converted Alexia’s first-touch assist to as good as sentence the tie.
FC Barcelona wanted more. Alexia finished off the scoring with a magnificent strike from the edge of the area, whereupon it was time to start easing off and giving run outs to two players returning from injury, Gemma Gili and Bárbara.
