Barça B have rescued a draw against Numancia (3-3) in a heart-stopping match finale. They took an early lead through Lobato, who capitalised on a great move by Deulofeu. Numancia bounced back to put the Barça defence under pressure and turned the game around with goals from Natalio and Del Pino. Luis Alberto hit an equaliser but just one minute later Juanjo put the visitors back in front. But despite playing with only nine men after Sergi Gómez and Rafinha were both sent off, Lombán snatched an equaliser from the penalty spot in the 95th minute.

See-saw possession

Neither team was able to impose themselves on the game as possession flowed back and forth, though both teams managed the occasional threat in front of goal. Numancia applied pressure in Barça’s half to try and short-circuit the home side’s attacking threat. For their part, Barça, looked to their pace wide to pose a threat to visiting goalkeeper Herrerín. The speed of Lobato and Deulofeu, as shown by the opening goal of the match, was the way to take advantage of Numancia’s advanced position on the pitch.

Second half woes

Numancia came out strong after the break and, just like the first half, had the lion’s share of possession. This finally bore fruit with an equaliser from Natalio. To add to Barça’s misery, Sergi Gómez was red-carded. Sergi Roberto and Dongou were brought on to try and add some extra pace in attack.

Numancia were playing well and it was no surprise when Del Pino put them ahead for the first time (min 83). That could have killed off the game but within a minute Barça had pulled level through Luis Alberto only to concede the lead again when Juanjo made it 2-3 with four minutes of normal time left.

A heart-stopping finale

Barça went down to 9 men when Rafinha was shown red after cutting short a Numancia attacking move. But in the 95th minute, just when it seemed that the three points would be on their way to Soria, a Lombán spot kick gave Barça an unlikely point.
