FC Barcelona is offering yet another opportunity to get a close-up views of the lives of the first team. Thursday sees the release of ‘Barça. Orgullosos del nostres color’, a large format publication that takes a chronological look back at Barça’s 2011/12 season, as well as the start of 2012/13. It includes photographs of life in the changing rooms, and other intense moments of Barça activity.

The author Ricard Torquemada is well-known from Catalunya Ràdio, while the pictures were taken by the Club’s official photographer Miguel Ruiz. The 204 page book is being published in Catalan, Spanish and English as part of a joint arrangement between FC Barcelona and Angle Editorial. One of its greatest attractions is its intimate focus on the Camp Nou and its farewell to Pep Guardiola after four extraordinarily successful years. It also looks at the arrival of Tito Vilanova, the finest guarantee of the continuation of the same methods that have served the club so well. The stars of this unique and emotional record are the players, coaches and other people who serve the first team.

Greatest of greatest successes

In 2011/12, the first team won four titles in amazingly convincing fashion. The book looks back at the Spanish and European Supercup wins against Real Madrid and Porto, the Clubs World Cup win over Santos and the Copa del Rey Final, where the victory over Athletic Bilbao marked the end of the Pep Guardiola era.
‘Barça. Orgullosos dels nostres colors’ is a wonderful tribute to all those achievements, while also offering a behind-the-scenes look at how Leo Messi won another Ballon d’Or, and beat César’s all-time record for goals in an FCB shirt. It also examines the arrivals of Alex Song and Jordi Alba, as well as new manager Tito, while a special chapter looks back at the four years in which Guardiola generated so much glory at the Camp Nou.

Three years of magic

The players have already received their personal copies of a book that follows on from three previous editions: Barça. El millor any de la nostra vida, of which over 20,000 copies have been sold, Barça. Estem fent història, with sales of 15,000 and Barça. En el cor de la llegenda, with sales of 12,000.
Part of the profits from the book will be used to support the projects of the FC Barcelona Foundation.
