FC Barcelona Alusport, the team that claimed the Liga, the UEFA Futsal Cup, the Copa del Rey and the Copa de España in the 2011/12 season, was recognized this Monday evening by the Union of Catalan Sports Federations. The INEFC installations hosted the 16th Catalan Sports Gala organised by the Union of Catalan Sports Federations (UFEC), where the best Catalan athletes and teams are recognised for their achievements in 2012. Barça Alusport was awarded the Best Team award for being the team that brought in the most silverware for Catalan sports.

President Sandro Rosell, the director responsible for the Club’s futsal team Javier Bordas, the manager Marc Carmona and the captain Jordi Torras were all on hand to receive the award from UFEC President David Monés and the director of Sport Joan Vehils. Rosell thanked the UFEC for the acknowledgment and he praised Marc Carmona. “I tip my hat [to you] for what has been achieved. We could have bought a spot in the Division of Honor but we decided not to, we had to earn that spot on the court. This success is embodied by Marc.”

The 16th Catalan Sports Gala was also attended by Club vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu, and the directors Jordi Moix and Eduard Coll.
