Massimiliano Allegri confirms his back line for Barça clash

The AC Milan manager declares that Abate, Zapata, Mexès and Constant will feature in his starting line-up tomorrow “We're going up against the best team in the world, we have to make it difficult for them,” said Allegri

In the pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow's Champions League shodown between AC Milan and FC Barcelona, Milan's manager Massimilliano Allegri confirmed that he’ll send out a defence made up of Abate, Zapata, Mexès and Constant. In addition, he explained that El Shaarawy is recovering well from injury. “He trained with the group, and he’s feeling well. We’ll see how he’s doing this Tuesday.” He added: “Riccardo Montolivo will likely play tomorrow and now I have to select two more midfielders.”

“We’re playing against the best team in the world”

“We’re playing against the best team in the world and we have to make it difficult for them. We have to limit their possession and, when we have the ball, we have to try and get something done, perhaps Barça’s defence will give us something,” said Allegri. Even though he knows he going up against a strong rival, Milan’s manager said, “I will not accept any talk of us being the victims. Unless the rules have changed, we start with a 0-0.”

Montolivo added: “we want to go up against the strongest team to know how well we’re doing.” FC Barcelona, according to the Milan player, have “an incredible midfield and we also have to be careful with their forwards, especially Messi.”
