Bayern Munich thrash Nuremberg (4-0)

Boateng, Gomez, Rafinha and Shaqiri all scored for the German champions

Bayern Munich thumped Nuremberg this Saturday afternoon by 4 to 0. FC Barcelona’s Champions League semi-final rival fielded a team full of reserve players against their German opponents; only Gómez, Ribery and Boateng - all of whom feature regularly for Bayern - were named to the starting team.

Only 25 minutes needed to win the match

It took Bayern only five minutes to score the opener thanks to a strike from Boateng. Gómez doubled Bayern’s advantage and before the 25 minute mark the German champions had a 3-0 lead, thanks to a goal from Rafinha.

In the second half, Shaqiri, assisted by Ribery, quickly scored Bayern’s fourth and final goal. Before the match was over, the keeper Starke saved Simons’ penalty shot.

Bayern Munich’s next match is scheduled for this Wednesday, against Wolfsburg, for the semi-final of the DFB-Pokal.
