Orense hosts 13th Xuntanza of Galician supporters clubs

The weekend of June 15 and 16 was the time for Orense to host the 13th Xuntanza de Peñas Barcelonistas de Galicia. The Peña Eternos do Barça was the host club for a series of Barça related activities.

Debate and gala dinner

This year’s Xuntanza started with a debate about Barça issues attended by some 100 people and held in the Liceo de Ourense. It was chaired by the FC Barcelona Delegate for Relations with UEFA, Amador Bernabeu and also featured ex Barça player Paco Clos and Fco. José “Lobo” Carrasco, the Delegate to the Advisory Council for Galicia, Salvador Cerviño and the president of the Peña Eternos do Barça, Manuel Cerreda.

The day ended with a gala supper attended by almost one hundred people.

Parade and lunch

On Sunday, there were further events connected to the Xuntanza. At 11.00, more than 350 people paraded their flags to the main square in the town.

Then the Barça entourage, led by Silvio Elias, director of the FC Barcelona Economic and Strategic Department, made their way to the town hall for a reception with local mayor Agustín Fernández.

The Peña Eternos do Barça then organised a trip to the famous Termas de Outariz, a popular tourist spa with medicinal properties, and which was enjoyed by the supporters club members and the FCB representatives.

Finally, the 13th Xuntanza de Peñas Barcelonistas de Galicia ended with more than 400 people attending a magnificent closing lunch.

The host club presented special awards to the four most prominent supporters clubs of the season, one from each of the four provinces of Galicia.
