FC Barcelona's youth teams celebrate the end of the season

The end-of-season celebration was held on the lawn of La Masia, and it was attended by President Sandro Rosell

FC Barcelona’s youth teams, 400 children in total, celebrated the end of the 2012/13 season this evening at La Masia Centro de Formación Oriol Tort.

The Club organised a celebratory dinner for children in the youth system, and it was attended by President Sandro Rosell. Vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu and the directors Jordi Mestre, Javier Bordas and Josep Ramon Vidal-Abarca were also in attendance.

Congratulations for a job well done

Sandro Rosell praised the youngsters for their excellent 2012/13 season. “We are all very proud of your work and your attitudes,” said the Barça president, who added that the youths are “lucky to represent Barça. And you’ve represented the Club well.” However, Rosell wen’t on to say that “we aren’t interested in titles, we’re interested in education, values and family. Never forget that values and education always come ahead of the final result of a match.”

Jordi Mestre, director responsible for Barça B, Juvenil A and youth football, also congratulated the players and thanked them for their “effort and an exciting season.” He added: “the most important thing isn’t results, but to compete at the highest level.” Mestre also had special words of praise for the FCB Women’s team, who won the league and the Copa de la Reina.

Finally, the technical director of youth football, Guillermo Amor, addressed the children: “you have all done an excellent job, this season has been fantastic.”
