Alexis delighted to welcome Neymar into team

“The game with Lechia is very important for our fitness” said the Chilean striker. Song: “It's bad news that Tito isn't here. He's a good person and we're all upset. But we have to keep going and just hope he comes back soon”

FC Barcelona’s Alexis Sánchez and Alex Song spoke to the press on Tuesday at midday ahead of this evening’s game with Lechia Gdansk. After being greeted by a large crowd at the airport, the Chilean said “we are so happy have received such a welcome … The game with Lechia is very important for our fitness”.

The big news about the squad that will be playing in the PGE Arena Gdansk this evening is the presence, for the first time, of new signing Neymar. After spending his first couple of days in the company of his new Brazilian colleague, Alexis said that “the team is delighted that he has arrived … He has all of our support. He’s a big addition to a team that will be competing for every title.”

Words for Tito

“It's bad news that Tito isn't here. He's a good person and we're all upset. But we have to keep going and just hope he comes back soon” said Song. The game in Gdansk was originally suspended following the announcement that Tito was resigning as manager. “We weren’t in the right mood to play the match, but a few days have now passed and we have to keep moving on” explained the Cameroonian.

Alexis went on to deny rumours that he might be leaving Barça. He insisted that “the club has said they want me and I will be staying here to help the team.” Alex Song also mentioned a player about whom there are similar rumours floating around, Cesc Fabregàs, saying that the Catalan midfielder “seems focused to me. I think he wants to stay at Barça”.
