FC Barcelona President Sandro Rosell spoke at the Members Representatives Assembly to give an overview of the progress made at the Club last season, as well as the prospects for this year. At the midpoint of his term as President, Rosell stressed the importance of the League title won last season, calling it: “the 100 point League, Tito’s League, the League of prevailing – the merit of the players and the coaching staff, with all the difficulties they faced and the big problems was just incredible”. The President was also confident that: “the team learnt their lessons from the Champions League elimination”.
On the economic front, the Club President called attention to the profits – calculated at 32 million Euros - obtained last season: “we have cleaned up the Club over the last three years with a policy of transparency, austerity and growth”. The reduction of the Club’s debt was the other important issue which Rosell mentioned: “the debt is the real key to the battle for our economic management and what makes us different”.
