Samuel Honrubia, Luc Abalo and Daniel Narcisse of PSG Handball and Nikola Karabatic and Cedric Sorhaindo of FC Barcelona are five Frenchmen that will be involved in game four of the VELUX EHF Champions League next Sunday in Paris. www.psghand.fr and www.fcbarcelona.cat joined forces to learn their opinions.
The return of Europe’s premier club competition to Paris is something that makes both Karabatic and Sorhaindo very pleased. The Barça full-back says the Parisian outfit is “a great side, full of top class players who can win everything … I am very happy that France has such a great handball team again”.
“I am so happy that Paris and France have such a great, new team in Europe. They’ll soon reach the very top”, added Cedric Sorhaindo.
Asked how he is enjoying life at Barça, Sorhaindo says that “we have all positions covered and the winning culture is intrinsic to the club’s philosophy … We always try to be the best and games against teams like PSG give even more sense to our work”.
Comparing PSG and FC Barcelona, Nikola Karabatic said “when we play PSG Handball we’ll know what level each team is at. But I’m sure it’ll be a good game between two great teams”.
Narcisse, Honrubia and Abalo feel that what PSG Handball have to do is what Barça have been doing throughout their history.
“Barça has the handball history that Paris lacks, but we are starting to write it. It will take time and effort, but we’re going the right way about things” says Daniel Narcisse. His team-mate Samuel Honrubia adds that “Barça are favourites to win the Champions League. They are the hardest opponent in Europe and we’ll have to produce our best handball to beat them”.
