The Barça handball goalkeeper is amongst the nominations for Word handball player of the year, with voting open to everyone

Arpad Sterbik is on the list of the five best handball players in the World for 2013. Together with him on the list, organized by the International Handball Federation (IHF), are the Croatian Duvnjak, the Dane Hansen, the Czech Jicha, and the Frenchman Narcisse

The IHF has opened a space on their web where fans and journalists can cast their vote. You can cast your vote at the following link http://www.ihfdata.com/voting-online.html

The voting period is open until January 21, and on completion of the counting of votes the three finalists opting for the title of best player in the world of handball in 2013 will be announced, and Barça handball player Arpad Sterbik is one of the candidates.

The winner will be announced at a ceremony that will take place on January 26 in Denmark, coinciding with the final of the European Handball Championhips.

 

A prestigious award

Great names in the World of handball have won the title of World best player. Sterbik himself won the award in 2005 and his teammate Nikola Karabatic won it in 2007.

Going back in time to 1999, Barça winger Rafa Guijosa was named as the World’s best player.

Other players who have worn the Barça shirt, and won the award as the World’s best player, include Vujovic, Hansen and Srkbic
