FC Barcelona claimed their fourth consecutive victory in the Top 16 thanks to a stellar performance from Navarro in the fourth quarter

FC Barcelona secured their fourth consecutive victory in the Euroleague’s Top 16 this evening when they defeated Unicaja by 83 to 79. The Blaugrana, who have won 16 straight games in this phase of the competition, are the dominant leaders of Group E with a record of 4-0.

Very equal at the start

Despite Barça’s fantastic start (11-9), Unicaja proved why it’s considered to be one of the best teams in Europe. The men managed by Joan Plaza managed to tie up the game thanks to points scored from Nik Carner-Medley. The American scored 10 points before end of the first quarter (25-24).

A lot of points were scored in the second quarter as well. Nachbar made it 34 to 28, and then Málaga went on a 2-10 run, and Abrines scored a three pointer with seconds left on the clock before the end of the second quarter (44-43).

Suárez takes aim

After the break, Unicaja surged thanks to Suárez’s three pointers and Granger’s field goal accuracy. Barça on the other hand were led by Dorsey and Huertas. After the most critical moments of the game had passed, Pascual’s men fought back to come within two points of Unicaja (66-68).

Navarro seals the win

Navarro’s fourth-quarter performance was stellar. He scored eight consecutive points and Nachbar nailed a three pointer to make it 79-70. Unicaja were unable to fight back from the deficit.
