Xavi Hernández is 34 today. And he’s celebrating his birthday just a few days after reaching the incredible milestone of 700 competitive games in an FC Barcelona shirt. He already tops the ranking of games played for Barça, ahead of Migueli.
He was just 18 when Dutch coach Louis Van Gaal handed him his first team debut in a Spanish Super Cup match against Mallorca, which Xavi celebrated by scoring his first senior goal. In the 16 years since his debut, Xavi has cemented his place as a Club legend, playing more matches and winning more trophies (22) than any other player in the history of the Club: 7 league titles, 3 Champions League titles, 2 Spanish Cups, 6 Spanish Super Cups, 2 European Super Cups and 2 World Club Cups.
