Barça B started training for the 2014/15 season on Monday morning with eight players. Two new signings, Cámara and Gumbau, were among the group working with Eusebio Sacristán. But no fewer than 13 of the squad were absent as they are helping to boost the numbers in the first team training sessions instead.
Therefore the following players were present: Ortolá, Robert Costa, Lucas, Sergio Juste, Agostinho Cá, Gumbau, Babunski and Cámara. They were joined by youth player Onana.
Eusebio ready to start
Barça B manager Eusebio Sacristán spoke to the club media and said that he is “happy and excited about the new season … I am pleased that the directors have allowed me to manage this team for one more year. It’s a privilege for me”.
He added that “there have not been very many changes. Not many players have been promoted to the first team or transferred to other clubs … But we are very happy with the reinforcements. We have a very competitive squad. It is a younger squad than last year but there’s a lot of quality, and their strength and enthusiasm will contrast with the maturity of previous years.”
Medical and training on Tuesday
On Tuesday morning the players will all be taking medical and fitness tests. Then they will train at 18.30 in the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
