FC Barcelona and Real Club Deportivo have agreed to terms for the player Javier Fernández to join Barça B on a two-year loan. Once the loan period expires, Barça will have the option to purchase the player. The player signed his contract at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, and the director responsible for Barça B Sílvio Elías was present.
After he signed his contract, the player said: “I’m very pleased and I’m very excited to come to such a big club like Barça.” He also noted that “I’m coming into a very young team, with some players that have experience in Segunda but I will do my best to earn my place.”
Javier Fernández Abruñedo, known as ‘Bicho’, is an imaginative, very technical and unpredictable player in the midfield. He usually plays right behind the strikers and is known for making excellent assists.
Two seasons ago, at the age of 16, he made his first team debut under the orders of Fernando Vázquez. He was named to the starting team in the 11th match day in Tenerife, and closed out the season with nine appearances in the Liga Adelante.
