Tomas Satoransky arrives in Barcelona

The Czech guard has arrived at his new club. Tomas Satoransky undertook the routine medical tests and then signed his contract binding him to FC Barcelona.

Long morning

His first stop was Barcelona Hospital de Barcelona for the first checks with the FC Barcelona Medical Services. After that, Tomas Satoransky went to the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper for further medical and fitness examinations. And having passed them all, Satoransky was then taken to the FC Barcelona offices.

Contract signed

He then posed for the traditional photograph with the club crest outside the head offices, where he got the chance to chat with the director responsible for the basketball section, Joan Blade, as well as Joan Creus, the technical secretary.

The contract binds him to the club for the next two seasons, and once it was signed, he found time to say a few words to Barça TV.

“This is a great opportunity for me and I’m delighted to have joined such a great club” he said. “It’s the best in Europe and very motivated to make the most of this chance. At the end of last season, several clubs expressed an interest, but when Barça called they became my priority. I am very pleased that this dream has come true and can’t wait for the new season.”

Still learning

Satoransky joined his former club Seville at the age of 17, and progressed impressively in his five years there. “My role in Seville in the last two years was to lead the team, and I improved a lot under coach Aíto García Reneses. Now I want to carry on improving. Five years at Seville was a lot, but this an important change on my career. I hope they welcome me when I go back there. I was used to playing with a young squad while I was there, but it’s going to be totally different here, and I’ll need to prove that I can play at their level”.
