Luis Enrique attends UEFA Elite Club Coaches Forum

The FC Barcelona manager joined the coaches of several other elite clubs, including Pep Guardiola

Luis Enrique travelled to Switzerland this Wednesday to attend the annual meeting of elite coaches organised by UEFA at its headquarters in Nyon, where he was joined by former Barça and current Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola.

On arrival, he attended lunch at the Hotel La Reserve in Geneva along with such fellow managers as Michel (Olympiakos), Unai Emery (Sevilla), Filippo Inzaghi (AC Milan), André Villas Boas (Zenit) and Laurent Blanc (PSG), who he played alongside at FC Barcelona in the 96-97 season and who he’ll be meeting again in the Champions League group stage.

Two days of meetings

After lunch, the players went to the UEFA headquarters in Nyon for the traditional group photo, which is where Luis Enrique firdst coincided with Pep Guardiola, who is not only a former team-mate, but was also first team manager while he was in charge of Barça B from 2009 to 2011. From now until Thursday, the coaches will be attending a series of meetings at which they will be discussing different aspects of UEFA competitions and refereeing issues.

The Forum will end with dinner at the UEFA headquarters, after which Luis Enrique will be returning to Barcelona in time for the first team training session scheduled for 6.30 PM CET at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
