Munir El Haddadi ready for full Spain debut

The young Barça striker could make his debut against Macedonia on Monday night

Munir El Haddadi’s eye-catching performances in pre-season and in Barça’s opening league games were instrumental in earning him a call up from Vicente del Bosque for the full Spanish squad and the Spain coach explained: “he’s making great progress and we have a lot of hope in him. We called him in because he was already with us”.  The Barça forward was with the Spanish Under 21 squad when he got the call to replace Chelsea’s Diego Costa, who picked up an injury against France.

Azulgrana's debutants

If Munir makes his debut against Macedonia on Monday, FC Barcelona will become the club to provide most debutants for Del Bosque during his time in charge of the Spanish side, following on from  Piqué, Bojan, Sergio Busquets, Pedro, Víctor Valdes, Thiago and Tello,

A total of five Barça players are in Spain’s squad for Monday’s opening Euro 2016 qualifying game:  Munir, Sergio Busquets, Pedro Rodríguez, Marc Bartra and Jordi Alba, with Andres Iniesta unable to play because of the injury he picked up against Villarreal.
