Four shields dedicated before Barça v Eibar

Two supporters clubs from Alicante, one from Catalunya, and one from Switzerland, used the occasion of the match against Eibar to inaugurate their plaques

Last Saturday afternoon four supporters clubs had their dreams come true as they officially became part of the Barça family. On a day already deemed important due to the Annual Delegates Assembly, festivities and celebrations among Barça supporters did not end there.

First was the Penya Blaugrana de Garraf, which unveiled its shield at door 58. Around twenty supporters were in attendance, including Supporters Club Commission member Xavier Ilincheta, who led the ceremony along with Josep M. Roca, president of the Garraf Supporters Club.

Then, just next door at number 57, the Peña Barcelonista de Monforte del Cid inaugurated their plaque. More than twenty supporters made the trip north from Alicante to watch over as Supporters Club Commission member Griselda Soteras, and the president of the Monforte del Cid Supporters Club Angel Manuel Penalva dedicated the plaque.

Door 55 was the scene of yet another ceremony, this one for the Penya Barcelonista Suiza Berna, Switzerland. Pascal Werro, president of the club, drew the curtain with help from Xavier Ilincheta before some ten supporters who came all the way from the Swiss Confederation.

Closing out the festive day of inductions was another group from Alicante, the Penya Barcelonista de Benissa. Their inauguration was attended by Joan Casals, the Avi del Barça (the Grandfather of Barça). Santiago Estupiñá, president of the Club, and Griselda Soteras led the ceremony dedicating the Club’s logo.

Everyone was then able to observe as Luis Enrique’s squad shined in a match assuring that Barça would remain atop the table regardless of next Saturday’s outcome versus Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
