FC Barcelona v Palma Futsal: Back on the victory trail (6-3)

Barça get their ninth league win in Ari Santos' first game back after six month injury

FC Barcelona walked all over Palma Futsal in their fourth Liga match with a six goal effort that will allow them to forget about last week's loss at Peñiscola. It was a great all around effort on a day that saw the return of Ari Santos, who came back from a devastating injury to his Achilles tendon, sustained last March.

Barça played an outstanding first half and took early command of the game on a tremendous goal from Wilde. In just the second minute, the Brazilian surprised Palma's goalkeeper with a missile that found the back of the net. The first 20 minutes defined the match, as Barça was lethal on attack and virtually impenetrable on defence, with Cristian standing tall in goal.

Several close strikes were turned away by Palma, but the second goal finally came in the 14th minute with a dazzling play by Bateria, who went in alone and chipped the ball over the keeper and into the net. The third came three minutes later when Sergio Lozano picked up a rebound off the post and knocked it home. Halftime came with Barça up 3-0.

The second half started off with Ferrao coming out for a few minutes after tweaking his knee. Palma's best shot came from Paradynski after picking up a loose ball off the post. Then came the moment that everyone had been waiting for: the return of Ari Santos.

Palma couldn't find Barça's off switch, as the home side was electric on offense. Their fourth goal came in the 31st minute after a nice combination from Usin and Saad ended with Chico finding the net. But they wanted more. Ferrao added the fifth and then Gabriel converted a nice steal to make it 6-1.

With the game out of reach, Palma scored twice in the final minutes. One of them was an own-goal.
